The classic wallet design.
The traditional bifold is a mainstay of everyday carry solutions. In spite of a near-continuous onslaught of novelty products intending to replace or outright kill it, this design remains. What is the secret to its longevity?
It works. It does its job really well.
For individuals who need to carry at least six or more cards plus bills and other assorted items on the daily, this is the design that does it.
I've designed this wallet so the cards protrude in even intervals from the tops of the slots, making them easy to access as they stack atop one another. Behind each bank of card slots is a hidden compartment for lesser used items. I like to stuff business cards in here, but lesser used plastic such as insurance cards can go here as well if you'd like to keep the functional slots free.
The billfold is sized to hold multiple bills, without folding. Unlike many other offerings of this style of wallet available on the internet, I fully line my billfolds in finished leather. This means that whatever color you choose for the interior, that leather will also be use to line your billfold which can be used creatively to create tremendous 'wow' factor whenever you open it.
For these wallets, I use Italian ‘Buttero’ (meaning Cowboy) vegetable tanned leather from Conceria Walpier tannery in Tuscany. Buttero is prized for its rich depth of color, smooth consistent grain finish and patina development over time and use. This is a leather that will visibly tell your story as it ages.
On average, it takes me 5-6 weeks to complete an order. I always say that every wallet takes its own amount of time, so that timeframe can be shorter or longer depending on how my queue stands.
