Compact, understated, elegant.
My most versatile wallet design, luxuriously appointed in fully-lined saffiano print goatskin and adorned with genuine American alligator.
Most people today carry cards more frequently than cash. Minimalist wallets are all the rage but for some people, myself included, it felt like they were trying to get away with doing too little. I needed to carry about 6 cards, sometimes as many as 8, and once in a while I'd end up with some cash to tote around as well. Those little wallets didn't cut it for me, so I designed this.
Its default configuration comes with four vertical card slots which will easily stow 6 cards from the start if you double stack one or two. Behind each bank of card slots is a hidden slot which is large enough to hold business cards or US denominations folded in half. This is ideal for the person who doesn't really need cash that frequently but still likes to keep a $20 on them at all times, just for emergencies.
Alternatively, you can choose to have one (or both) sides done with angled organizer slots. These will hold papers, bills, or more cards and are useful if you like to visually sort your wallet contents.
All of this capacity measures in at roughly 3" x 4" when folded, making this ideal for a front pocket wallet in any configuration.
These are made to order and take around 6-8 weeks for completion.
A note about alligator:
Alligator skin is a natural leather product: whether wild grown or farm raise, no two are exactly alike. This means that a great deal of variation in scale pattern and size is to be expected not just between individual hides, but even between pieces cut from the same hide.
Because of this natural unpredictability, I cannot guarantee a scale or pattern match between wallets. For bifolds of this style I always use a horizontal cut from the belly, neck or sacral region with larger scales in the center and sometimes smaller flank scales at the edges, but otherwise the shape, size and distribution of these scales will differ from wallet to wallet. As such, exact scale selection and placement of the cut is understood to be left to the maker.
